Editorial policy

Licensed operators only

We list operators licensed by the Gambling Commission for Great Britain and no others. We do not list or link to operators that market to people who have self-excluded through GamStop; advertising an unlicensed operator to British customers is an offence under section 330 of the Gambling Act 2005 and we will not do it in any form.

Advertising rules

This site is advertising and follows the CAP Code and the Gambling Commission's licence conditions on marketing. Concretely: 18+ and a safer-gambling signpost on every page; every offer shown with its significant terms; no claims that betting is a way to make money, no language presenting bets as safe or returns as certain, nothing of particular appeal to under-18s; and no marketing to anyone who has self-excluded.

Independence

Ratings follow the published rubric. Commission does not enter them, and a bookmaker cannot buy a position, a rating or a change to a review. Where a commercial relationship exists it is disclosed on every page, not only in a footer.

Facts and dates

Each page shows when its facts were last checked. Licences are checked against the regulator's register. Operator figures are labelled as the operator's. Where something is not documented, we say so.
