How the conversion works
Fractional odds show profit against stake: 5/2 returns £5 profit for every £2 staked. Decimal odds show the total return for a £1 stake, so 5/2 becomes 3.50. American odds show the profit on a £100 stake when positive (+250) or the stake needed for £100 profit when negative (-200).
Implied probability
Dividing 100 by the decimal price gives the probability the price implies: 3.50 implies 28.6%. Across a whole market the implied probabilities add to more than 100%; the excess is the bookmaker margin. Use the margin calculator to see it.
